Veer Singh

At the heart of Indian craftsmanship are stories passed down through generations—and Veer Singh’s journey is one of them. His work reflects not just skill, but a lifetime shaped by tradition, family, and patience.
Based in Badarpur, South-East Delhi, Veer Singh is a third-generation wood artisan with over twenty years of experience. Working from his family-run workshop, he carries forward a legacy of traditional craftsmanship, shaping each piece slowly and entirely by hand. Using locally sourced Safeda, Bamboo, and Coconut wood, his process is rooted in patience, skill, and deep respect for the material.
He is best known for his signature wooden birds—meticulously hand-carved and hand-painted with striking precision. Alive with expressive forms, intricate detailing, and rich, vibrant hues, these sculptural pieces strike a beautiful balance between playfulness and elegance. They feel at home in gardens, living spaces, workspaces, or any corner that could use warmth and character.
What truly sets Veer Singh apart is his inventive spirit. By blending age-old carving and wood-burning techniques with unexpected elements like metal and thread, he creates work that feels deeply traditional yet refreshingly contemporary.
Sustainability lies at the heart of his practice. From natural, responsibly sourced materials to low-impact, handmade processes, every step reflects a thoughtful commitment to both craft and environment.
Veer Singh’s creations are more than décor—they are quiet stories of heritage, family, and mindful artistry. Artists like him are the reason 9 Petals exist: to honor authentic Indian craftsmanship and the hands that keep it alive.
