Introducing the exquisite Nandi Bull, a magnificent brass sculpture and loyal vehicle of Lord Shiva. Revered as the gate guardian deity of Kailasa, Nandi symbolizes truth and righteousness.
This remarkable Nandi holds great significance as a collector's item, hailing from North India and bearing the signs of its age, possibly over 70 years old. It is likely that this ornate piece was once utilized for pujas, further enhancing its beauty. Particularly noteworthy are its gracefully shaped horns and its comfortable position atop a pedestal. Such exquisite craftsmanship is indeed rare to come by.
Dating back to over 5000 years, the depiction of Shiva accompanied by Nandi is among the oldest forms of Hindu representation. Often found in Shaivite temples, the reclining white humped bull faces the shrine's entrance from an elevated platform. This eternal gaze upon the symbolic lingam signifies a profound connection.
Today, the bull has become a powerful symbol of Hinduism, embodying purity, justice, faith, wisdom, virility, and honor. The Nandi sculpture serves as a testament to its rich cultural heritage, encapsulating these profound qualities.
Please note that vintage pieces come with small imperfections, that’s a part of its beauty and age.
