Bring home a sacred piece of South Indian heritage with this exquisite, over 95-year-old clay figurine of Goddess Mariamman. Sourced from a Tamil Brahmin home in Madhampatti, Tamil Nadu — a family long associated with temple service — this handcrafted and hand-painted terracotta bust carries generations of faith and devotional energy.

Framed by a prabhavali crowned with a yali and protected by a graceful multi-headed cobra, this statue is a striking embodiment of Mariamman — the revered Dravidian goddess of rain and healing. Every detail, from her serene facial expression to the ornate jewelry and embellishments, reflects generations of craftsmanship and devotion, capturing the essence of traditional South Indian artistry.

Traditionally known as a golu or kolu, this figure would have once graced a Navratri display, where deities and mythological scenes are arranged to celebrate the divine feminine and invite blessings into the home.

This is a one-of-a-kind vintage collectible — ideal for altars, heritage-inspired décor, or as the centerpiece of a devotional display. A rare subject, deeply tied to temple tradition and South Indian spiritual history.

Please note that vintage pieces come with small imperfections, that’s a part of its beauty and age.
