Experience the elegance of ancient bathing rituals with this exquisite vintage brass foot scrubber, a stunning example of traditional craftsmanship. Historically known as a Vajri, this unique tool was expertly handcrafted by master artisans and served as an essential part of the elaborate foot care rituals practiced by noblewomen of a bygone era.
This rare collectible features a pair of majestically sculpted elephants with their trunks entwined, forming a singular, ergonomic handle that is as comfortable to hold as it is beautiful to behold. The twin elephants stand upon a sturdy, oval-shaped pedestal adorned with delicate open-work cutouts and a deeply textured, checkered base designed for effective exfoliation.
Adding to its sensory charm, the hollow base contains small metal pellets known as Ghungroos. These create a soft, melodic chime when the scrubber is moved—a feature traditionally designed to announce the presence of royal women within their private bathing chambers. Cast in solid brass with a rich, aged patina, this individual piece is not just a functional tool but a true work of art that reflects the opulence and artistry of mid-century metalwork.
Please note that vintage pieces come with small imperfections, that's a part of its beauty and age.
