Bring home a divine pair of vintage clay idols—Lord Venkateshwara and Goddess Padmavathy—steeped in sacred South Indian tradition and spiritual grace. Handcrafted over seven decades ago, this set originates from a Tamil Brahmin household in Andhra Pradesh with ancestral ties to temple service and devotional practice.
These beautifully molded and hand-painted figurines were once cherished components of a traditional Golu (Kolu) display, an integral part of Navratri festivities in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. For nine nights each year, such divine idols are lovingly arranged on tiered steps to narrate sacred stories, honor deities, and invoke blessings into the home.
Lord Venkateshwara stands majestically, adorned in a green dhoti, regal ornaments, and a signature conical crown, exuding protection, abundance, and celestial authority. His serene expression and divine aura are framed by a temple-style arch painted in traditional hues of yellow, green, and white. Beside him, Goddess Padmavathy is depicted in a seated posture, draped in a flowing red saree with black and gold detailing, embodying prosperity, grace, and divine compassion.
Together, this pair symbolizes divine union, balance, and eternal devotion—a cornerstone of South Indian Vaishnavite worship. Their vintage patina and slight wear tell a story of time, devotion, and reverence passed through generations.
A rare collectible and sacred heirloom, perfect for altar placement, heritage decor, or as a centerpiece during festivals like Navratri or Vaikunta Ekadasi. Each piece is one of a kind, preserving the artistry and spiritual traditions of a bygone era.
Please note that vintage pieces come with small imperfections, that’s a part of its beauty and age.
